Explosion heard on Linfield campus

A small explosion was reported about 11 p.m., Wednesday on Southwest Keck Drive near the Linfield College HP Apartments. No damage or injuries were reported, but the explosion was heard by many on campus.

A two-liter soda bottle was recovered from the area, according to Linfield spokesperson Rebecca Wale.

Students, faculty members and campus visitors are encouraged report any suspicious containers or devices to the Public Safety Department, 503-883-7233.

McMinnville police and the college are investigating the Wednesday evening incident. Information can be reported to the police at 503-434-7307 or Linfield Public Safety.
