A
central part of our mission here at the News-Register is maintaining
the closest connection we can with the community we serve. To do that,
we need help from people like you - people who work with civic groups,
service clubs, churches, athletic teams and other key components of
that community.
What
we want from you is your news.
Our
readers value it. They want to know what you are up to so they can get
involved. And they expect us to provide it. That's a mantle we've been
proudly
carrying since 1866.
It's
not a case of us being willing to accept what you have to offer. It's a
case of us actively seeking it out.
To
that end, we have published a guide called, "Sharing Your News," which
we are billing as "a road map to guide your dealings with the news
department at the News-Register."
Copies
are always available at the main reception desk just inside our main
front door at 611 N.E. Third Street in downtown McMinnville. You can
pick up as many as you like and share them with other members of any
groups to which you belong, or with anyone else you think might find a
copy useful.
In
addition, we are making a copy available here as an Adobe Portable Document Format or PDF document.
If you have a copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer, you can
call it up and read it. You can even print it out if you like.
Still
have questions about how to work with our news department to get your
material into the paper? Then call Managing Editor Steve Bagwell at
503-472-5114, Ext. 226, or e-mail him at sbagwell@newsregister.com.
