An open-mike is held the first and third Wednesdays of each month at Cornerstone Coffee Roasters, 216 N.E. Third St. Signups will be accepted starting at 6:30; music runs from 7 to 9:30 p.m. No cover charge.

The Emily Herring Trio will play country-blues on Thursday, Sept. 2; The Matt Meighan Trio will play a mix of original tunes and songs from the American folk and blues tradition on Friday, Sept. 3; Billy D. will play Saturday, Sept. 4; and Sonny Hess and Lisa Mann will play blues on Sunday, Sept. 5, at McMenamins Hotel Oregon, Third and Evans streets. Dennis Brutke and the Country Gents will play country-western music for dancing at 7 p.m. Fridays in the McMinnville Grange Hall, 1720 S.W. Old Sheridan Road. Admission is $5.
