(Nathalie Hardy/ County Government Reporter) During an informal discussion Monday at the Board of Commissioner’s office, Commissioner Mary Stern reported that Brian Van Bergen was off to an excellent start as the new County Clerk.

“And, you are, too, Allen,” she said.

“I feel like I’m treading a lot of water,” joked the newly elected County Commissioner Allen Springer.

“But, we’re behind you,” Stern said.

The same sentiments were repeated at today’s Board of Commissioner’s meeting when Springer said when people ask him how he’s enjoying his new job he responds by saying: “How could you not enjoy it with this staff and the people I get to work with? It’s a treat to have this this level of quality people to work with.”
