Dec 2, 2013
Multiple gunshots were fired at a McMinnville duplex early this morning, according to McMinnville police. No one was struck by any of the rounds.
Capt. Dennis Marks identified the primary target as 1612 S.W. Shirley Ann Drive. It was occupied when the incident was reported shortly after midnight.
Marks said more than 10 rounds were fired from a small caliber weapon. There were bullet entries into the west side of the residence and in the front door.
Some rounds penetrated both the exterior siding and interior drywall and traveled into the interior of the residence. Several items inside the residence were damaged.
Seven people were reportedly in the residence at the time of the shooting. It was a mix of adults and children. One adult and two children were sleeping in a room that two bullets penetrated.
Marks said police have very little suspect information, and it's not known if one or more individuals were involved. It's also not known if whoever is responsible was on foot or in a veicle when the shots were fired.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Detective Bill Christensen at 503-435-3495.
