Love is blind this month at the library
Library encourages patrons to celebrate love of reading with a blind date
Feb 8, 2013
(N-R Staff) As reporter Starla Pointer wrote in a feature in today's paper, "Are you looking for a date for Valentine’s Day? To cuddle up with for an evening? Maybe even to take on a weekend trip? Try McMinnville Public Library’s new service, 'blind dates' with books."
Patrons of the McMinnville Public Library are encouraged to have a blind date with a book this month.
Library card holders can check out a book from a shelf of books wrapped in red paper — their genre and title are hidden from the reader. A sticker on the front of the wrapped book tells you a little about what’s inside, just enough to pique your interest.
Unwrap your book when you get home. Perhaps you will discover a new favorite book or author. If you don't enjoy the book, bring it back with no hurt feelings or awkward breakups.
The "Blind Date with a Book” display will be upstairs at the McMinnville Public Library for the remainder of February.
