Councilor defends skateboarders

Perhaps better known for being wary of adult authority, McMinnville's skaters have gained a new voice on the city council. The newest councilor, Kevin Jeffries, told his fellow councilors Tuesday that he has been spending time lately talking with local skateboarders. He said he's found them concerned about their community and willing to better it. The city needs to encourage them, he said.
