It’s probably only a hint of what you consider football weather, but I’m eager to experience Friday night in Gresham when McMinnville visits Barlow to open the season. One year after league title, Y-C volleyball rebuilding with fresh faces
The Yamhill-Carlton volleyball team may have turned from being league front-runners to underdogs, but as far as the Tigers are concerned, those are just labels. “People just aren’t expecting us to rebuild this quickly, and I’m excited after just one week,” said Y-C coach Julie McGraw, starting her 11th year heading the program. “It’s a new group of faces, and they’re hungry. ... Our team was so used to winning the last couple years.”

Both Mac High soccer teams doing ‘the dirty work’
For both of McMinnville High School’s soccer teams, it’s time to get down and dirty as season openers against Forest Grove loom. Pulling double duty as head coach for both the boys and girls this season, Chuck Bechtol said he wants to make sure every one of his players is doing “the dirty work.”
