McMinnville Parks and Recreation youth soccer registration
Want to make new friends, get some exercise and have a lot of fun? Sign up now for McMinnville Parks and Recreation youth soccer. Boys and girls leagues for kindergarten through sixth grade players. Games begin mid-September and end in early November. All players of the appropriate age are welcome. Detailed information and online registration is available on the Recreational Sports page of the City of McMinnville’s website, ci.mcminnville.or.us, or register in person at the McMinnville Community Center. Deadline for registration is Saturday.
Register now for the Wine Country Half
The fourth annual Oregon Wine Country Half Marathon is Sunday, and registration is coming to a close.
The race starts at 7 a.m. at Stoller Family Estate and finishes in downtown Carlton next to Ken Wright Cellars and Tyrus Evan tasting room.
A new event this year is the Playworks Fun Run at the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum. It is set for Saturday. The first fun run will start at 11:15 a.m. and is approximately 1/6 of a mile. The second run is approximately one mile and will start at 11:30 a.m.
The trademark post-race Wine & Music Festival in Carlton features over 20 locals wineries, awards ceremony, exhibitors, band and food and beer garden.
A team competition and Winery Challenge are offered for the half-marathon and a two-person relay option is also available.

Register now for Dayton Fiesta Run
Dayton’s Fiesta Run is now accepting registrants for its 10th year. The race, held in conjunction with Dayton’s Harvest Festival, will be Sept. 7.
The race features a 5K and a 10K and starts at 9 a.m. from the center of town. A one-mile children’s run, limited to ages 17 and younger, will start at 8:30 a.m.
The start/finish area is next to Seufers Winery. Runners in the 5K/10K can order a free glass of wine, beer, or soft drink at the winery after their run. It will be served in a free commemorative glass, also given to each participant. There will be a free hot sandwich for runners as well.
Music for the post-race party will be supplied by local band Ritmo Tropical y El Charro De Oregon. CHW Guitars of McMinnville will play music on the course.
The three water stops on the course will be manned by local churches.
Registration for the 5K and 10K is $25 in advance, $30 on race day. The kids run is $5.
Early packet pickup will be available the evening before the run at the Blockhouse Restaurant in downtown Dayton.
