Six injured in Wednesday night crash

LOCK HIM UP HE WAS OBVIOUSLY INTOXICATED, SPEEDING AND FAILING DUTIES AS A DRIVER. DUI AT THE VERY LEAST. HE ENDANGERED 5 LIVES AND PROBABLY SUPPLIED THE ALCOHOL THEY HAD TOO! I BELIEVE OUR POLICE DEPARTMENT WILL DO THE RIGHT THING. GO GET EM MCMINNVILLE POLICE.SORRY FOR THE CAPS BUT THIS PISSES ME OFF BEYOND ALL. HOW MANY TIMES DO WE HAVE TO SEE OUR FRIENDS GET KILLED BY A DRUNK DRIVER BEFORE WE LEARN NOT TO GET INTO THE CAR OURSELVES. SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT.

While you serve a valid argument, every single one of them is over 18, legally an adult, able to make thier own moral and value judgements. They CHOSE to drink in excess, they Chose to let a drunk driver behind the wheel of a vehicle they would be riding in, they CHOSE their destiny that night. What I do wish we would have a chance to vote on is whether or not it is attempted murder. The driver CHOSE to get behind the wheel of a huge chunk of metal, and chose to allow passengers in his vehicle. He also made the CHOICE to be driving on public roads, thereby endangering every person he passed.

Intoxicated drivers should be forced to accept attempted murder charges like the family of their victims are forced to live without their loved ones.

The driver should get jail,fined and suspended license,but the others should also be fined and have their license suspended for a lessor time and have to take care of the gravesites of people killed by drunk drivers for a year,every weekend.They all new what they were doing,and sometimes you can fix stupid.

The idiots riding in the car with the drunk guy should get into trouble too in my opinion.

If the driver was under the influence he should be charged with as much as possible. However, I don't think we should legislate or make stupidity a crime. All the passengers are adults and had to make the choice to get in the vehicle. Our jails and prisons are full enough as it is. If they didn't learn their lesson from this crash they'll likely end up as poster children for the Darwin awards sometime in the future.

Drinking and driving is an issue that weighs heavily on many people�s hearts, as it should. It�s an emotional subject, often met with anger. While I believe we should have to suffer the consequences of our actions, I also believe people make mistakes. Mistakes can have detrimental consequences that may cost someone their life. It�s not fair, but in this specific instance and by the grace of God the victims of this crash will all be okay. I�m going to go out on a limb and suggest that the six people involved probably learned their lesson, it�s the lesson we should all learn. Don�t drink and drive, and don�t ride with someone who has been drinking. Hold your friends and family accountable before the mistake is made, a DUI is an unnecessary occurrence and certainly nothing could be so important that driving is worth our lives. I wasn�t there, I wont condemn them, so rather than attacking the people involved, I think it better serves the public for everyone to appreciate a close call, learn from their mistake, share their stories in hopes that it may detour someone else from making this mistake. These are good people who made a poor choice and I for one hope each will make a full recovery. I�d be willing to bet this was a mistake none of them will make twice.

if you dont know the people dont judge them. it didnt say the driver was drunk did it? no he had been drinking yes... but that is still legal to a point. he wasnt drunk. he didnt crash cuz of that... if you dont have the whole story dont go around talking smack about locking him up. just going off what the news says is stupid and ignorant. there is way more to the story. i know, ive been told it, the news leaves out everything they find unimportant or boring. if it was you in the news and they held back all the other information youd be pissed too. but since its not you feel the need to go around throwing comments about something that you really arent completely informed about. so next time, in order to keep yourself from looking ignorant to everyone.... wait to hear all of the story before you start talking smack.

This is an inherent characteristic of most who frequent the vendor locations you speak of. "Just sayin..."
On the other hand, unfortunately drinking is an/the issue no matter what culture. It's bad judgement to be in a vehicle with any alcohol consumption or intoxicants in general. Knowing most of the people involved (related), they are young, they have made bad choices, hopefully they all got a reality check, and WILL NOT TAKE THEIR REMAINING DAYS FOR GRANTED .

I just have to say I find it absolutely funny how a accident suddenly become a race issue. But as long as we're there already I shuld say that the only reason you gringos talk so much crap is simply because of fear. While the white race accounts for 61% of the welfare money given out each month us proud Mexicans only account for 16% of that. And only use it for a short term while we get back on our feet. We are fighters. Crazy how most whites claim to have too much pride to work in the fields, but yet never think twice about sitting a busy intersection BEGGING even us "illegals" for our pocket change!!! All the ones that posted negative comments towards Mexicans, while you're out enjoying your weekend please count how many Mexicans will be begging you for money as opposed to whites! And yes the reason might be like you all claim, the whites end up unemployed because "illegals" are stealing their jobs. But that's simply because we work harder, complain less, have better work ethics and aren't just waiting for the dumbest reason to sue our employers. I just wanted to comment that race has nothing to do with this, I'm sickened at the arguement that has gone one between everyone here. First and foremost 6 lives were under a chunk of metal. According soley on the reports of the investigators at the accident alcohol was involved and they did not state whether the driver was drunk and they did say speed was a factor. I whole heartedly am so thankful that their lives were spared. As a mother I am very disappointed that any of these young adults got into the vehicle with someone who was drinking. No matter the amount of alcohol it has been proven that it does affect our thinking, obviously the more you drink the more it impairs your thinking. It was a poor decision on all parties involved in this. It was a reckless decsion honestly. No matter how you slice it there was an error in judgment. Praise the Lord they are all ok and will survive. As far as punishment, if the driver was indeed found guilty of being over the legal limit surely he should be charged for endangering the lives of others. Who knows, maybe his punishment is this lesson which is a very hard one. I'd say knowing you were at the wheel when others were injured is punishment for the soul and that alone can be awful. To those of you who are familia please remember that it does not change the facts. I know you want to protect your family, and you should. The problem I have is that someone got behind the vehicle after having a drink and that is absolutely inappropriate, if you are drinking you should not be driving. Praise be to God that all 6 of these people survived. Let's not mask the severity of this with sensitivity, let's face reality.

A mistake is not CHOOSING TO DRINK IN EXCESS AND THEN CHOOSING TO DRIVE. A mistake is NOT inviting your friends in to the vehicle while you are drunk. A. Mistake is not CHOOSING to drink while underage, and then CHOOSING to get in a car with a drunk.

I wish speedy recoveries for all involved in this accident. I'd experienced my first car wreck while driving a little too fast on an iced-up bridge, and I can say with all honestly that I've never made that mistake again.

I wasn't going to comment on this but as a member of the car and a citizen of the United States I felt it was appropriate. I'm and average 22 yr old girl with an education, A decent job and with what I must say a unique way of being. Judgements have been made but I was in the vehicle and know facts, and everyone in the vehicle. Each HUMAN is an incredible person with a great heart and passion for what they do. This was an accident. People are so easy to judge. Yes alcohol was involved, there was acohol in the vehicle due to some drinking before the accident of which the driver did not touch. Drinking did not occur on the road. I'm a woman who loves my culture and wouldn't deny it. But born and raised in this country.

And as far as attempted murder, there is no motive. Speaking from my relationship with the driver, he would never jeapordize a human beings life in a malicious way. A mistake was made, an accident happened. The sunset has the ability to blind. So much that another accident happened at the same time, same spot. A week and a half later.
