Current NHRA regional Nitro Harley competitor Janette Thornley will be in McMinnville on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at Mikey's Pizza at 835 NE Highway 99W for a meet-and-greet. Thornely, who is from McMInnville, is competing this weekend in Woodburn at the Woodburn Dragstrip in the 20th annual Latus Motors Northwest Nitro Motorcycle Nationals.

Thornley has one first-place trophy this year. She won an NHRA regional event in Norwalk, Ohio, making her the first woman to win on a nitro Harley in the NHRA. she drives a 500-horsepowe carbeurated nitro motorcyle that can reach 180 mph in 7.3 seconds.

Thursday, Thornley will be at Mikey's to meet with people, and there will be a a live demo around 7 p.m. where she will fire up her motorcyle.
