My own opinion is that I think government needs to get out of this marriage thing all together, I don't think them, church, or anyone should have a voice, accept the two people it is between. If you don't think so.. why not fight for arranged marriages again?
That said I also realize marriage by state has more to do with capital than anything else, and how society divides that up throught those two people's lives..
