Parade magazine announced Collierville, Tennessee, online on Friday, Aug. 15, as its first place winner in its voting for America’s Best Main Street contest which took place in late June and early July, putting finalist McMinnville in the second place spot.

Collierville and McMinnville started out battling 14 other cities in the 16-team sports style bracket with all voting conducted online.

In addition to Collierville being featured online, McMinnville received a nice story and a gallery of photos, as well.

That's too bad. We put in a good effort, but they had greater numbers. I still think we have a lot to be proud of regardless.

Collierville appears to be a really nice little town, just like McMinnville. We all win. We all have the privilege of living in wonderful little towns that are the very definition of main street America.

Yes it is a bummer, we do live in a wonderful town. McMinnville has a lot to offer for the community. We see so many tourist come through. I hope we continue to see our town grow. Best to Collierville, Tennessee.
