McMinnville firefighters responded early Wednesday evening to a fully involved residential structure fire southwest of town at 21185 S.W. Eagle Point Way, off Peavine Road.
The two-story home was a total loss, according to McMinnville Fire Division Chief Debbie McDermott. She said flames had consumed about three-quarters of the 1,200-1,400-square-foot home by the time the first crew arrived. The home, that McDermott said was probably built in the 1970s, was located off the road.
There was no one home at the time. McDermott said a dog was seen running around in the area of the home when the first crew reached the scene.
Equipment and personnel from the Amity Fire District also responded.
The Yamhill County Fire Investigation Team was on scene this morning in an effort to determine a cause.
