Aug 5, 2013
McMinnville native Chris Siegfried, a candidate on this season's edition of "The Bachelorette," has won his girl.
In tonight's final episode, bachelorette Desiree Hartsock chose Siegfried as her top choice. He responded by proposing, then slipping a glittery ring onto the third finger of her left hand.
In the "After the Rose" live special, Hartsock said Siegfried was a steady force throughout the show. Although she at one point was leaning toward choosing a different man, she always was drawn to Siegfried. After the other contestant bowed out, she realized she had loved the McMinnville man all along.
Siegfried also was featured on the live show tonight as he and Hartsock made their public debut as an engaged couple.
Earlier in the season, he brought Hartsock to McMinnville to meet his family. They played baseball at Joe Dancer Park in addition to visiting the Siegfried home.
Siegfried grew up in McMinnville, attending St. James School before going to high school at Jesuit High in Beaverton. He played baseball while at the University of Portland. Drafted by a the Chicago Cubs, he pitched for their minor league team from 2007 to 2011.
He now lives in Seattle and works for HomeStreet Mortgage Lenders in Seattle, in addition to modeling part-time.
