Linfield College public safety officers and McMinnville police are investigating graffiti discovered Sunday morning at five sites around campus.
The vandalism was discovered on the Health, Human Performance and Athletics building, the B wing of the Hewlett-Packard Apartments, the soccer dugouts, the College Street Apartments and the bike co-op, according to Rebecca Wale of Public Safety.
It was discovered during routine patrols, she said. It probably occurred between 1:15 and 5:30 a.m. Sunday, she said.
“Property damage and vandalism is something we take very seriously,” Wale said. “It has been documented and evidence has been turned over to the McMinnville police.
“There are multiple cameras on campus. Public safety is reviewing surveillance video.”
Workers were assigned to clean up the graffiti as quickly as possible.
Various surfaces were vandalized, so different cleanup methods are being used, Wale said. “It’s either being painted over or cleaned, depending what is appropriate,” she said.
Anyone with potentially relevant information is asked to call College Public Safety at 503-883-7233 or the McMinnville police at 503-434-7307.
