Lecture looks at issue of gender equity
Feb 11, 2014
Cynthia Enloe, a feminist scholar of international relations, will present “Have We Already Forgotten Iraqi Women?: Some Feminist Warnings about Post-War American Amnesia” on Thursday, Feb. 13, at Linfield College.
The free program will start at 7 p.m. in the Richard and Lucille Ice Auditorium in Melrose Hall on campus. It is part of Gender Equity Week at Linfield, which runs Feb. 10-15.
Enloe, a research professor in the International Development, Community, and Environment Department at Clark University, will discuss what is remembered and forgotten about the Iraq War. She will focus on U.S. presumptions about Iraqi women.
Remaining alert to their ideas and efforts might make Americans smarter about wars in general and our involvement in warm Enloe contends.
