Sheriff’s Toy Drive: Unwrapped gifts, gift cards and slightly used coats and blankets received by today, Dec. 14, will be given to children between ages 2 months and 17 years. The ninth annual Sheriff’s Toy Drive has placed drop boxes in the Yamhill County Courthouse, the County Sheriff’s office in the courthouse, and city halls in Dayton, Sheridan and Willamina. Newberg Toy & Joy: For the 82nd year, the Newberg Fire Department is collecting new, unwrapped toys today, Dec. 14, to Penner-Ash winery, 15771 N.E. Ribbon Ridge Road, Newberg. Between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, Santa and his tricked-out Airstream “sleigh” will offer photo opportunities. Donors receive a free tasting flight. KOIN 6 Holiday Magic Gift Drive: Gifts are accepted at Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum today, Dec. 14. Donors receive $5 discounts on regular admission to the waterpark or museum. For more information, call 503-434-4185.

Giving trees: Give a Little Foundation, Henderson House and the See Ya Later Foundation will benefit from Giving Trees collecting gift cards from local businesses in any amount through Monday, Dec. 17. Trees are at Albertsons, Cindy’s Gym, Curves, Great Harvest, Grocery Outlet, Harvest Fresh, Hillside Retirement, Henderson House, Kraemer’s, McMinnville Area Chamber of Commerce, McMinnville Dental Group, McMinnville Water and Light, McMinnville SELF-STOR, Michelbook Country Club, MVP Performance Training, New To You, NW Food and Gifts, Onpoint Community Credit Union, Pendragon Ink, Robert Roe, Sunrise Church, Third Street Holiday Market, Ticor Title, Urbanbliss, US Bank in McMinnville and Western States Insurance. OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital: New, unwrapped toys and games will be collected at the Coyote Club desk at Spirit Mountain Casino through Monday, Dec. 17. Suggested toys and games are listed at under promotions.

McMinnville Toy & Joy: The McMinnville Fire Department is collecting toys through Monday, Dec. 24 for infants through age 12. Drop sites are the fire station, Hopscotch, Applice Physics Technology, State Farm, Davison Auto Parts and Linfield College. For more information, call 503-435-5800.

Robert Roe: A local family of six children whose father is battling cancer has been adopted by the clothing store, Robert Roe at 410 N.E. Third St. No. 10, McMinnville. Ornaments on a giving tree are upstairs and indicate the ages and interests of children and parents. Donors select an ornament and return it with a gift to be delivered close to Christmas. The store is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, or by appointment. For more information, call 503-883-1014.
