(The News-Register staff) -- CARLTON -- Highway 47 traffic is being flagged past the scene of a crash that sheered off a power pole and knocked down electric lines.
PGE is on the scene repairing the lines.
The highway has been partly shut down since about 3 p.m., when a small blue car ran off the road and hit the pole just north of Pekkola Road.
The power blinked off. It was quickly restored, although some PGE customers are without electricity.
The downed lines threatened to cause a field fire.
Law enforcement officers and medics responded to the scene south of Carlton and north of Pekkola Road. The cleared the scene about 4:20 p.m., but the road remains closed while PGE crews are at work.
