Semi-truck rollover kills driver on Highway 47 north of Yamhill

YAMHILL -- A male driver was killed when a 53-foot-long semi-truck trailer rig rolled over about 11 a.m. just north of Yamhill.
According to Oregon State Police, the man was driving south on Highway 47 when his truck failed to negotiate a right-hand curve, traveled across the highway and rolled into a grassy field.
The wreck and investigation blocked traffic for several hourss.
Police asked for a heavy-duty wrecker to help stabilize the rolled vehicle and an extrication tool to free the driver. The truck reportedly was carrying a large quantity of chocolate syrup.
State police said the driver was not wearing safety restraints. They said they will release the victim's name following next-of-kin notification.
