Unfortuantely this is a sign of our times, but really, loss of jobs? Won't bus drivers will still be needed?

Yes, bus drivers will be needed....but the hourly wage will be less (or frozen if currently employed with Willamina SD.). Benefits will be slashed..... The best drivers will be disgusted and leave/retire? Contract bus companies usually have a lot of turnover (discontented employees?). Driving a school bus requires a lot of training and skills, massive patience and sense of humor; you are responsible for a bus load (60-80) of precious students! Bus drivers should be treated with a bit more respect AND appreciation from their school district !
