Clean Energy Works offers remodeling program

Clean Energy Works Oregon, a nonprofit dedicated to residential energy efficiency, recently expanded its homeowner assistance program in Marion, Polk and Yamhill counties.

More than 180 homeowners have signed up so far and the first 10 projects are already nearing completion. The agency’s goal is to complete 300 local projects by the end of 2013.

It is still accepting applications. And it is offering instant rebates of up to $3,000 through Nov. 30.

Homeowners accepted into the program receive numerous of services. They includes a home energy assessment, the services of a certified contractor, financing through Umpqua Bank, instant rebates and a thorough inspection.

CEO Derek Smith said Clean Energy Works serves as a one-stop shop when it comes to energy efficiency improvements, and has been getting a strong response. He said that serves to boost the economy as well as save energy and energy expense.

“Customer demand like this sparks economic activity and grows local, family-wage jobs,” Smith said. “Across the state, we have completed more than 2,000 energy efficiency projects, generating paychecks for hundreds of workers. We are eager to build on the great early success of the program here in the region to benefit homeowners and their communities.”
