CARLTON -- Police arrested a transient Wednesday, July 2, on accusations that he has had unwanted contact, including sexually explicit conversation and inappropriate touching, with several women in the Carlton area.

Darrel Michael "Mike" Dierck, 56, was charged with criminal trespassing, unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and three counts of harrassment. He also was issued two temporary stalking complaints related to incidents with two separate women, Carlton Police Chief Kevin Martinez said.

The suspect is being held in Yamhill County Jail on $10,000 bail.

Martinez said his department has been investigating Dierck for the past month. Officers arrested him about 3 p.m. Wednesday near West Main and Scott streets.

The investigation is continuing. Martinez said anyone who has had similar contact with the suspect should contact Carlton police, at 503-852-7575 Ext. 103 or kmartinez@ci.carlton.or.us.
