Arrest made in 7-Eleven armed robbery
McMinnville man taken into custody

McMinnville police arrested Robert Joshua Chaffin, 23, of McMinnville about 6 p.m. Wednesday in connection with the knifepoint robbery of the 7-Eleven store in the early morning hours.
Chaffin, whose address is listed as Northeast Ninth and Davis streets, was charged with one count each of first-degree robbery, menacing and unlawful use of a weapon. He was also in violation of multiple probation violations and a post-prison supervision violation. He was lodged in the Yamhill County Jail without bail. He will tenatively be arraigned at 1:20 p.m. Thursday in circuit court.
Capt Matt Scales gave this account of the robbery:
At about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, an adult male, allegedly Chaffin, entered the store located at 901 S.E. Baker St., across from the Linfield College campus. He confronted the clerk and demanded money. The clerk complied and he fled on foot.
