KEIZER — Two people were arrested today in connection with the death of Grand Ronde resident Travis Calvin Clawson, 21, who was found Tuesday night lying in a Keizer intersection. He had been short.

Keizer police arrested Dustin Michael Freeman, 22, and Miguel Aispuro, 18, on charges of delivery of marijuana, a Class B felony.

Both are housed at the Marion County Jail. They are scheduled to be arraigned at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, in the Marion County Court Annex, 4000 Aumsville Highway, Salem.

Clawson's last known Grand Ronde address was 320 N. First St., according to the Oregon Judicial Information Network. He was found wounded about 10 p.m. Tuesday after officers received reports of gunshots in the area.

He died six hours later. An autopsy by the state medical examiner's office confirmed that the cause of death was a gunshot.

Keizer police are continuing the investigation.

"We don't know if we have a crime at this time," Keizer Police Capt. Jeff Kuhns said Thursday. "We don't know if he was a victim or a suspect. In Oregon, people do have the right to defend themselves and defend a third party. If that means using deadly force, they can do that. We're sorting through all the facts to figure out what happened. It is a homicide investigation, but that does not mean the crime of murder was committed."
