McMinnville High School graduate Chris Lay and three other musicians, the "Century Quartet," will perform a concert of mostly original music Thursday, Nov. 19, in the Mac High auditorum.

Music will start at 8 p.m. Admission is $5.

Lay, son of music teachers Pat and Frosty Lay, graduated from Mac High in 2002. He now is pursuing music full -time in Portland.

He plays solo guitar or piano in small breweries, coffee shops and other venues. He also plays drums for various groups. He writes pop rock and folk rock tunes.

Other members of the Century Quartet are Michalangela, a jazz and soul singer who has performedwith Lay in McMinnville on other occasions; Ben Darwish, a pianist Lay met when both were students at the University of Oregon; and Sam Howard on bass.

They will perform as a group and several members also will do solos.
