McMinnville police charge suspect with sex crimes

McMinnville police have arrested a man and charged the suspect with sex crimes that date back about 10 years.

Lt. Rob Edgell identified the suspect as Terry Allen Westfall, 49, who currently lists places of residence at 205 Rice Lane, Amity, and a Camas, Wash. address. He was living on Northeast Irvine Street in McMinnville at the time of the alleged crimes.

He was charged with 10 counts of first-degree sexual abuse, a Class B felony, and two counts of first-degree sodomy, a Class A felony. The offenses are Measure 11 charges that carry a lengthy mandatory minimum prison sentence on conviction. He was lodged in the Yamhill County Jail on $1.8 million bail and must post $180,000 to secure his release. He will be arraigned at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday in Yamhill County Circuit Court.

The crimes allegedly occurred starting in 1998 and continued for several years. The victim was a female under the age of 12 at the time of the first occurrence. Investigators believe there may be additional victims.

Do you really know the facts about this case? Innocent until proven guilty. He is guilty of many crimes which are sexual in nature, but I assure you there has been no rape. And while we are at it, not one other victim came forward, as there were no more victims. The man is sick and needs help. Yes he needs jail time for his crimes, but nobody should be tried in the media. Everyone deserves a fair trial. After all this is America and as far as I know public lynchings are against the law.

At the age of twelve his victim would have been a sixth grader. I'm sure the parents in Amity don't like the fact that their children were going to school across the street from a sex offender. He does need help but he doesn't need excuses.

he didn't abuse grade school kids...i'm fairly certain he only abused the one victim and they were twelve, not under...he's not a bad man, just a sick one...he needs help, not hatered...
